"Wheelchair Recycler" makes mobility possible for many

Known as the "Wheelchair Recycler," 47-year-old David Heim refurbishes donated power wheelchairs and sells or gives them away. "I've seen too many people without mobility, and there is so much out there," says Heim, in a wheelchair himself since a 1995 car accident. Based in Marlborough, Mass., he has repaired about 500 wheelchairs since starting his company in 1998.
