Beyond 3-D TV, Verizon sees holography in its future

Fiber-optic networks have gotten so advanced that Verizon Communications says it has begun testing the delivery of holograms into homes and businesses through its FiOS network, a technology that the telecom sees as having special application to health care. "A hologram of a patient can be beamed right to the home of the doctor, who could rotate the image and make a diagnosis," said Verizon Chief Information Officer Shaygan Kheradpir.
