NBCT: Return playtime to kindergarten classrooms

Students in kindergarten should be given time during the school day to play, according to a National Board Certified Teacher who says the unstructured time benefits students. Jane Ching Fung, a kindergarten teacher, writes that playtime allows students who might struggle academically to build social skills and self-esteem. Fung writes that playtime is especially beneficial for English-language learners or students with special needs.
