Teachers: Some tools to engage parents create more work

Some California districts are hoping to encourage more parental involvement in schools by providing parents with online access to their children's grades, along with homework assignments and other materials. However, teachers say that giving parents greater access will mean an influx of calls and e-mails and that parents should not expect instant responses.
