Vancouver to replace building roof made famous in Winter Olympics

The trademark five-sailed roof of Canada Place, made famous during coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, is being replaced as part of a $21 million renovation project. Birdair has received an $11.3 million contract to remove the roof it installed some 25 years ago and replace it with a one of similar design but made of fiberglass fabric coated with titanium dioxide to repel dirt.
