Fat cells in some people may be more toxic, study finds

Fat cells in some people with metabolic syndrome release certain biomarkers associated with insulin resistance and inflammation, which can lead to diabetes and cardiovascular disease, experts reported in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. "Our study shows that not all obesity is the same and some body fat may actually be toxic," said senior study author Ishwarlal Jialal.
