Researchers find key bacteria for cellulose-to-butanol production

Researchers at Tulane University said that they have identified a bacterium that is capable of producing butanol from cellulosic material like recycled paper. Called TU-103, it is the first naturally occurring bacterial strain discovered that can transform cellulose into butanol, according to the university.
