U.S. chemical makers prepare for Hurricane Irene

Chemical companies with facilities on the East Coast are preparing to act as Hurricane Irene bears down. Chemical makers such as DuPont and Honeywell are evaluating whether to cut output or close facilities. "DuPont sites throughout the East Coast are closely monitoring Hurricane Irene, and plans are well under way to prepare for the storm's anticipated landfall this weekend," said DuPont spokeswoman Tara Stewart.
