ACC: Current silica exposure limit is "appropriate" for workers

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Friday released its proposed rules seeking a more stringent limit on worker exposure to crystalline silica. The American Chemistry Council said the current limit on exposure levels is "appropriate to protect against silica-related disease, provided it is adhered to strictly." Cases of silicosis are the result of noncompliance with the current exposure limit, ACC said.
