Calcium, vitamin D supplements may not ease joint pain in older women

The severity of joint pain and swelling among postmenopausal women did not change after taking calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 supplements each day, U.S. researchers found. The findings, scheduled to be published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, do not counter current recommended vitamin D intake for bone health, the study team said.
