Students transitioning from elementary to middle school face major changes

Educators in a Virginia school district are offering tips to help prepare sixth-grade students for the transition from elementary school to middle school. Among the major changes they will encounter, educators and parents say, is a larger homework load, lockers and the loss of recess. To help students cope, they suggest helping students learn how to stay organized, prioritize homework and plan ahead.
