Supporters laud New Orleans' centralized expulsion process

Child advocates and educators are praising a new centralized expulsion system among charter and traditional public schools in New Orleans' decentralized school system that has a single hearing officer rule on all expulsion cases using a uniform list of expulsion-worthy offenses. The process comes after some schools were accused of expelling students for minor offenses, ranging from uniform violations to "willful disobedience."
