Technology paves the way back to home-delivered milk

South Mountain Creamery in Maryland is using high-tech methods for an old-fashioned service: Home delivery of milk in glass bottles. The company, which also delivers meat, eggs and bread to about 7,000 customers, uses a range of cutting-edge methods in order to meet growing demand, from laser technology to determine when cows are ready for milking to a mapping system to efficiently plan delivery routes.
