Environmental advocates say Massachusetts lawmakers bowed to industry and softened a new law aimed at boosting mercury recycling rates in the state. "With this weak bill, it's unlikely that we'll see significant reductions in mercury pollution," says Elizabeth Saunders, director for Clean Water Action in Massachusetts.
