Seattle Schools Struggle To Close Racial Gap

A "disproportionality" task force created to address the academic gaps between races in Seattle Public Schools is looking at ways to ameliorate a long-standing problem, a report says. Suggestions include recruiting ethnically diverse employees, eliminating racial disparities in assigning students to special programs and training teachers to deal with students from varied backgrounds.
