Panel votes to move 20,000 jobs from Northern Virginia

A federal panel voted Thursday to move more than 20,000 defense jobs from commercial office spaces in Northern Virginia to military bases. The commission also voted to close Washington, D.C.'s, Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The Pentagon hopes the shift in jobs saves money and protects workers from possible terrorist attacks. As many as 18,000 jobs could move to Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Va.
