Extra-strength rebar approved for use in Seattle high-rise condo

Engineer Cary Kopczynski has been given the go-ahead for what may be the world's first use of 100-ksi rebar. The material will be used in the construction of a 31-story residential condominium in Seattle in what Kopczynski said would revolutionize high-rise concrete building construction in seismic zones.
