Center aims to broaden plants used on green roofs

The Rice Plant Conservation and Science Center at Chicago's Botanic Garden will open its green roof next month. The 16,000 square-foot green roof includes plants that grow naturally in harsh environments. Managers of the project say its goal is to broaden the selection of plants used on green roofs.
