Construction starts on Kentucky sewage tunnel

A $109.4 million sewage tunnel now under construction will cover six miles and carry waste to a treatment plant on the banks of the Ohio River. A 65-ton tunnel-boring machine will drill the tunnel 300 feet underground. The tunnel, which will be made of concrete, is designed to last 100 years.
