NASCIO health IT chief urges state CIOs to ramp up HIE plans

State CIOs should immediately work on their plans for the implementation of state health information exchanges to take advantage of the HIE and training grants to be awarded by the HHS to states, said Otto Doll, chairman of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers' health IT working group. "The funding is now beginning to catch up with the large-scale health care reform policy of incorporating information technology into health care practices," Doll said.
