Study: Low-calorie and low-fat formulations help dieters stay slim

A study comparing those who have lost weight with others who already were slim found that low-calorie drinks and low-fat foods help dieters maintain their new weight. The weight-loss maintainer group uses "more dietary strategies," said the researchers, "including greater restriction on fat intake, use of fat- and sugar-modified foods, reduced consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and increased consumption of artificially sweetened beverages."
