Waistline fat raises risk of asthma in women, study says

Results of the California Teachers Study found women with a waist circumference of about 35 inches had a 37% higher risk of developing asthma, even if they are not considered overweight. The study, which included more than 88,000 women, showed women with a BMI of 30 or higher had double the incidence of asthma.
