39 groups seek congressional hearings on E15

A coalition of industry groups on Wednesday urged a Senate committee and House panel to conduct hearings on whether the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency had adequately studied the effects of allowing E15 in the country's fuel supply. The biofuel industry asserts that E15 is safe for engines, but in a letter the coalition sent to congressional members, it wrote that the "EPA has not released information about the mid-level blend's impact on different types of road and non-road engines, nor has it released information about how it will prevent harm to consumers from 'misfueling' their engines with the incorrect blend."
