Blue Cross, Michigan hospitals aim to reduce blood clots

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network are collaborating with hospitals in the state on a quality improvement study to develop best practices for the prevention of blood clots in high-risk patients. Blue Cross said limiting blood clots could help save $5 million in health costs over a five-year period.
