BP executives unsure of rig responsibility before spill

BP officials said they had no idea who called the shots aboard the Deepwater Horizon rig before it blew up in April. Kent Wells, a senior vice president with BP, said he didn't bother to find out who was liable because he was busy tending to the company's response to the damaged well. His statement was criticized by Hung Nguyen, co-chairman of the joint U.S. Coast Guard-Department of the Interior commission probing the spill, who said no one from the company appeared to want to take the blame for the disaster.
