Calif. Senate OKs bills on child, maternity insurance

The California Senate approved bills that would require insurance companies to offer maternity care and coverage for children regardless of pre-existing conditions. The bills, which go back to the Assembly for final action, would provide coverage before being replaced by the new federal health care law in 2014.
