Karen Storek started New Parents Network in 1988 by distributing packets through hospitals offering answers to questions every new parent has about topics such as immunization and health care. Now her online community gets as many as 4,000 page views an hour. But after running the organization by herself for 23 years, Storek was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. She's working with her board of directors to develop a succession plan and says she's looking for someone who can help her with the nonprofit should she live for another 20 years.
