DuPont ups solar-module film capacity as photovoltaic demand rises

DuPont has opened another production line for manufacturing polyvinyl fluoride, a material used for its Tedlar-brand PVF film, which in turn, is used as a backsheet component for photovoltaic solar modules. The production line doubles DuPont's PVF capacity and will allow the company to cater to the surging demand for solar cells. It could also help DuPont's photovoltaic sales, which are expected to exceed $1 billion by next year, and double that by 2014.
