Google ramps up real-time social-search tools

Google has launched a new search product, intended to be used separately from its main search engine, to allow users to find social content in real time. The platform, called Realtime Search, creates a live, constantly updating newsfeed by pulling content from Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and Buzz. The move could pave the way for the company to offer in-page or in-stream advertising linked to social-search results.
