Lockheed Martin cuts costs in compliance with DOD efficiency initiative

Lockheed Martin says it has been going through a rigorous process to cut costs in accordance with the Pentagon's new efficiency initiative. Officials said they supported the Pentagon's plans, and while no details on specifics were disclosed, Lockheed officials say they believe compliance with the Pentagon's directive for defense contractors to reduce inefficiencies will be essential in receiving follow-on contracts for current programs.
