As reports of a weakened housing sector and an even more fragile economy rolled in, President Barack Obama hinted at initiatives to invest funds into transportation-infrastructure projects. At a speech in Seattle, Obama said he supports a "21st-century infrastructure" of bridges, roads and high-speed rail, all projects he says could create thousands of private-sector jobs.
