United CEO raises concerns about government's aviation policy

Jeff Smisek, president and CEO of United Continental Holdings, said the largest problem the airline industry faces is the government's failure to develop a coherent aviation policy. At an industry convention, Smisek also raised concerns about global distribution systems, noting their resistance to direct-connect technology. "GDS's have to keep up with our changes in technology," Smisek said.
