Google Play permits free-app distribution in Iran

Google is making free applications accessible to citizens of Iran, though it is retaining restrictions on apps involving monetary transactions. Google's YouTube is still unavailable in the country. Google has not yet explained its change in policy, Frederic Lardinois writes, but it opens up new avenues for developers.
