Immersion helps students strengthen their language skills

A group of students and a German language teacher from Pendleton Heights High School in Indiana spent part of their summer immersing themselves in German language and culture. Having to communicate in their second language felt overwhelming at first, but the students said they were surprised how quickly they became more comfortable speaking German once they had to use it all the time. Students spent time with host families during their trip.
