Report: NYC's smaller schools graduate more students on time

Smaller schools in New York City have a higher average on-time graduation rate, according to research being released today by research group MDRC. The findings are expected to show that 70% of students from small schools graduated on time -- compared with 61% of their peers who were turned away from the city's small schools, which enroll students via a lottery. The small-school initiative was launched in 2002 by Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration.
