School leaders mark first days of school with tweets

School superintendents increasingly are using Twitter to communicate what is happening in schools, and the first days of school have been no exception. Hillsborough County, Fla., Superintendent MaryEllen Elia used the microblogging website to post photos of her visits to schools on the first day. Jefferson County, Ky., Public Schools Superintendent Donna Hargens tweeted information about bus routes, while others posted pictures of students getting back to learning and information about the Common Core State Standards.
