Last year's aggressive growth in back-to-school spending largely reflected pent-up demand from the "make do" years of the recession and, while 2013 spending has been marked by "cautious conservatism," it hasn't returned to the lows of the 2008 through 2011 period, Prosper Insights & Analytics Consumer Insights Director Pam Goodfellow says in this interview.
