Survey: Turnover of public-sector tech execs is on the rise

The turnover rate of government IT executives is increasing as some move to private-sector posts for better money, job security and career advancement, according to a Gartner survey. Job tenure for local, state and federal chief information officers averages 3.4 years, while IT chief longevity in the private sector averages 5.7 years in 2013, the report said.
