UK authorities need bail-in powers for big insurers, BoE says

The Bank of England says that to align the UK's resolution framework for systemically important insurers with proposed global standards, UK authorities need bail-in powers. The central bank also says that certain resolution requirements could be imposed on insurers considered domestically significant, as well as those deemed globally systemically important.
