U.S. wild horse population burgeoning out of control

The wild horse population in the Western U.S. is growing so quickly that the government can no longer afford to control it by paying to ship and house some horses on private farms, yet allowing the population to grow unchecked would mean widespread landscape damage and suffering among the animals. Researchers Robert Garrott and Madan Oli suggested in a scientific report that horse population control could be achieved in part with aggressive use of a contraceptive vaccine.
