USPSTF recommends interventions for overweight patients facing CV risks

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that overweight people who are at risk of heart disease undergo "intensive behavioral counseling" that involves diet and exercise interventions for an extended period. The final statement, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, covers patients with hypertension, high cholesterol and blood glucose levels, and metabolic syndrome.
