Internet makes harassment more public

In the privacy of their bedrooms, adolescent bullies use instant messages, e-mail and blogs to inflict public pain on classmates without the knowledge of adults. Psychologists say that teens, like many adults, find that impulsively hitting the "send" button can result in their firing off messages they later regret.
