Analysis: Indiana averages 1,700 suspensions per school day

Indiana's 1,800 schools handed out more than 313,000 suspensions during the 2005-06 school year, according to an Indianapolis Star analysis. Since many students were suspended more than once, about 100 schools issued more yearly suspensions than they had students.
