RTI report stirs up debate, part two

In this second of a two-part series, health IT vendors and privacy advocates express their mixed opinions on a recent RTI International report calling for EHR developers to re-engineer EHR systems so they can be used by payers as fraud-fighting tools. Some vendors support the recommendation not to include prompts for physicians to add information to records to get a higher evaluation and management code, but one vendor says the feature could provide clinical and financial decision support.
