Audi turns up the heat on luxury rivals

Audi plans to continue its Olympic TV campaign for its A4 model, which casts an unfavorable light on rival luxury models from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, with TV spots during the Major League Baseball playoffs in October, "NFL Sunday Night Football" on ESPN and prime-time series including "The Office" and "Grey's Anatomy." A Mercedes spokeswoman dismissed the premise of the campaign from Venables, Bell & Partners, San Francisco, saying it amounted to little more than "free publicity" for the Mercedes brand.
