Seeking to preserve Cincinnati hub, Delta abandons Concourse C

While still committed to its Cincinnati hub, Delta Air Lines said Tuesday it will cease operations in Concourse C at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, leaving the concourse empty but eliminating the need to shuttle passengers to and from Concourse B. Delta said it will continue to operate 58 gates at the airport and will continue to pay rent on its 48 gates on Concourse C through 2025. "Fuel is ... haunting the industry and putting intense pressure on carriers," said Don Bornhorst, senior vice president of Delta Connection. "We're happy we've been able to make these changes and preserve the hub." Bornhorst also noted that the change would not have an effect on jobs.
