Agreement allows Québec dam project to move ahead

Construction of a dam in the James Bay region of northern Québec is running ahead of schedule, observers say. The dam was subject to a court challenge by indigenous people who lived off of the land when it was first proposed many years ago. About a decade ago, Hydro-Québec reached a compromise agreement with the Crees, which allowed the project to move forward.
