Legal challenge looms for Enbridge's pipeline project

Earthjustice and other U.S. green organizations intend to file a lawsuit in a California federal court involving Enbridge's Alberta Clipper oil-sands pipeline. The groups contend that the State Department did not conduct a proper environmental assessment before it granted a permit for the $3.3 billion project. Enbridge, however, does not expect the case to cause delays for the venture, spokeswoman Denise Hamsher said.
