Mass. regulator demands info on Goldman's trading huddles

The chief financial regulator in Massachusetts subpoenaed Goldman Sachs on concerns that its weekly trading huddles, in which researchers offer short-term stock tips to traders, might put some clients at a disadvantage. "We have concerns about the research analysts and the efforts under way to use them to secure additional business," said William Galvin, Massachusetts secretary of the commonwealth. The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority also are examining Goldman's huddles.
