Algae.Tec plans IPO to pay for demonstration plant

Australia-based Algae.Tec is filing for an initial public offering to raise about $6.6 million to build a demonstration facility for its technology that uses carbon dioxide to harvest oil from algae. Algae.Tec's technology allows it to grow algae inside converted shipping containers, which could be transported easily to carbon dioxide sources and stacked to reduce the need for additional land.
